Is your Mac running slow? Are you desperately looking for a way to organize your Mac’s files? Are you ready to give up on your Mac?
Don’t! Here are our Apple Repair Los Angeles team’s seven recommended tips for optimizing your Mac computer!
See It, Fix It
If you’re feeling swamped with the amount of problems to fix on your computer, try just working on a quick fix. Essentially, you can start by fixing the easy to see problems on your computer. For example, clean some files off your desktop; organize those files into a folder or delete them if you no longer need them.
Delete Some Programs
You probably have several programs installed on your computer. Do you use all of them? If the answer is no, it’s time to free up some space on your computer’s hard drive. Go through your Mac’s application folder, and see which programs you haven’t used in a while. If you haven’t used them in a long time, and feel like you won’t use them again in the future, delete them!
Digital photos are an unlikely, yet big reason why a computer may be running slow. Our smartphones take high resolution photos that are often very large; having several of them on your hard drive can take up gigabytes worth of space! Here’s a tip: keep your most cherished photos on your computer and put the rest on an external hard drive or on a cloud service like iCloud.
Scrub Your E-Mail
Is your e-mail application clogged with thousands of messages? Want to make sure that never happens again? Make folders for every month. Organize your messages by month received and sent. That way, you can go into any folder at any time and see a list of neatly organized e-mails.
Take Your Computer to a Specialist
Sometimes there are problems that really are too difficult to fix on your own. If this describes your situation, just try scheduling an appointment with a specialist at the Apple Store.
